Bends

For pneumatic transportation Finn Inc. will typically recommend a long radius bend or "sweep" to reduce impact abrasion. For slurry conveyance, a standard radius bend will often be sufficient. Most bends have a straight extension on the outlet end of the bend. This increases the lifetime of the connecting pipe.
Finn Inc. manufactures 3 main types of bends.

Lined Ceramic Pipe Bends  Lined

- Lined bends have standard ceramic thicknesses of 1/2", 5/8", 3/4" and 1". These bends have NO SEAMS. Ceramic Lined Sweeps / Ceramic Lined Bends

Wear Back Sweeps and Bends  Wear Backs

- Small diameter bends have a square steel cover (Wear Back) outside the wear side of the bend. Larger bends have a rounded cover. The pocket between the cover and the bend is filled with castable ceramics. Common center thickness is 1 1/2" to 2". Wear Back Sweeps / Wear Back Bends

Python Sweeps  Pythons

- A major wear area in bends are typically where the center line of the straight inlet pipe hits the bend wall. The Pythons have a short wear back in this area in addition to the interior lining of the bend. Python Sweeps
